FRENCH FARMS
French Farms located in Chemung N.Y., operated by
brothers Dudley and Marshall, started using Purina’s
Ultimate EXT 36% in January 1993. They feed com
silage and haylage as forages, with High Moisture
Shell Corn and Purina’s Ultimate EXT 36% as the
grain sources in a Total Mixed Ration. The herd is
divided into a high group balanced at 80 pounds of
milk and a low group balanced at 60 pounds of milk.
Since February 1993 the low group has been milked
twice a day and the high group three times a day.

Some observations and remarks
made by Dudley and Marshall:
“The cows show heat better and are settling quicker.”
“Production has increased and butterfat has not dropped.”
“The cows feet appear to be in better condition with
less problems.”
