The 39th annual spring show and sale of the Northwestern Pennsylvania Hereford Association was held at the Mercer 4-H Park on April 24. The show was at 2 p.m. with Eric Ligo of Mercer as the judge and the sale at 7 p.m. with Harry Anderson of Georgetown as the auctioneer. The sale started with items donated by the membership to benefit the junior association. The 33 lots (females and bulls) totaled $29,960 for an average of $9OB/head. There were 22 females, totalling $18,120 for an average of 5824/hcad. The 11 bulls totaled $11,840 for an aver- year warranty cagaa. Circle W also had reserve grand champion bull, a January 1992 son of CWF Special Force, sold to Robert Bcdncr of Pittsburgh, Pa. for $1,600. Top selling bull was consigned by Hillside Hereford Farm of Butler, an April 1992 son of JCD NV Ascendant sold to Wilbur DcVorc of Bear Lake, Pa. for 51,775. DeVore was also a volume buyer with the purchase of five lots.
