ture’s prospective plantings report
places Pennsylvania’s 1993 com

acres this year, four percent less

Troutman said the sign-up per
iod for this year’s farm programs
ended April 30.
“Therefore, the report provides
only a preliminary indication of
farmers’ responses to the 1993
feed grain program.”
The feed grain program calls
for a 10 percent reduction in com
base acres this year and offers a
federal target price of $2.75 per
bushel and price support loans at
$1.72 per bushel. The season
average price for corn for
1992/1993 is projected to range
between $1.95 and $2.15 per
bushel.
