ORVILLE, OHIO Kids are
seeing spots before their eyes in
school. Smith Dairy has intro
duced cow-spotted cartons for
their chocolate half-pint milk to be
served in schools.
The paperboard cartons are
white with brown spots resembling
the patterns of the Holstein cow, or
the dairy cow. The new container
symbolizes the freshness and old

is known for.
“We wanted to make our milk
fun,” says Brian DeFelice, vice
president of sales for Smith Dairy.
“Students love the cow spots. And
the new graphics on the carton are
a great way to encourage them to
drink more milk.”
The idea for the new container
actually came from the United
Dairy Industry Association.
Smith’s is the first dairy to take
