place at the annual New York
Junior Holstein Association com
petition April 3 at the NYS fair
grounds in Syracuse.
The team, coached by faculty
member Matt Stewart of the col
lege’s Agriculture and Horticul
ture Department, bested teams
from State University of New
York at Morrisville, State Univer
sity of New York at Cobleskill,
and Virginia Polytechnic Institute.
Five Alfred State students
placed amont the top 10 individu
als in the competition.

This event served as
an informal preparation
for future compeilion,
and “valuable experi
ence was gained.”
