An export milestone will be
reached on May 6 when the
50-billionth bushel of com to
be exported from the United
States will leave from New
Orleans, bound for Japan.
“Shipping the 50-billionth
bushel of corn from New
Orleans to Japan is very sym
bolic,” said Kenneth Hobbie,
president and CEO of the U.S.
