Movement of re»dy-to-cook whole birds
was slow snd disappointing. Offerings
were fully adequate, instances ample. Live
supplies were moderate. Weights were
mixed and mostly desirable. Processing
schedules remained heavy despite some
plants reducing operations. Less than
irucklot asking prices were unchanged at
49 to 61 cents; however, some plants
reported discounting to stimulate demand.
In the parts complex, breast items were
about adequate and in best balance. Leg
items ranged fully adequate to heavy .parti
cularly leg quarters. Wings were adequate
to fully adequate.

Prices were unchanged to higher in the
Northeast and Midwest, unchanged else
where. The market lone was steady to firm.
Demand ranged fair to good, best where
featured. Supplies were barely adequate to
fully adequate, and extra eggs continued to
be maintained with confidence. Breaking
stock supplies were barely adequate to
adequate, and prices were unchanged to
higher. Live hen markets were at least
steady, and live supplies were short to
adequate for the moderate to good demand.
