MARY: Compared to last week; Stocker
steers and steer calves under 6SO lbs.

$1.50-$2.00 lower. AU heifers 52.00-53.00
lower. This a definite stoim market with
trucking to north impossible and trucking
difficult to west. Demand good for Stocker
steers, light to moderate for all others.
Quality of supply average thru attractive.
Flesh widely varied from thin thru mod
erately fleshy with feeder cattle flesh a bit
less desirable than last week. Weigh-ups
gaunt to average. Demand for Brahma
cross cattle has improved during past few
weeks. These cattle were receiving normal
to severe discounts due to winter season.
Generally discounts are not lifted til mid
March. Slaughter cows 52.00-53.00 high
er. Demand very good for light run of
cows. Slaughter bulls scarce. Receipts this
week 4,500; last week 6,390; last year
12,945. Supply consisted of 70 percent
feeders over 600 lbs.; 26 percent calves
under 600 lbs.; 4 percent cows and bulls.
