Quickly dip bread in egg mixture one piece at a time, just until moistened. Fry in hot skillet on each side until golden brown. Serve immediately with syrup or jelly. 1 cup brown sugar VA cups water 1 tablespoon cornstarch 1 teaspoon maple flavoring Combine sugar, water, and cornstarch in a sauce pan. Cook until slightly thickened, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add 1 teaspoon maple flavoring. Serve. Sweet Roll Dough 1 package yeast 'A cup warm water Vi cup warm milk Vi cup sugar Vi cup shortening 1 teaspoon salt 1 egg 3'A to 4 cups flour Dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in milk, sugar, shortening, salt, egg, and 2 cups flour. Beat until smooth. Mix in enough flour to make dough easy to handle. Turn onto floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic (about 5 minutes). Place in greased bowl, cover and let rise until double (about I'A hours). Classes in open-hearth fireplace cooking and bake oven baking will be held at the Heritage House Museum, 43 East High Street, Elizabethtown. The bake oven baking class will be held on Sunday, March 14 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the recreated 1847 squirrel-tail bake oven at the museum. Cost of the class is $3O for non-members and $25 for members. Tom Martin will instruct both classes. Martin, from Strasburg, has studied his art throughout the Northeast and taught at a variety of museums and other historic sites. Currently, he offers classes at the Landis Valley Museum and the Heritage House Museum.
