Not all soybeans are created equal. Pioneer® brand soybeans start with leading genetics that
offer greater disease resistance and performance. Through a strong commitment
to research, Pioneer is proving that better genes make for better beans. That’s why soybean
growers have made Pioneer varieties the number one planted brand. And now they’re also
available in bulk. Ask your Pioneer sales representative for the varieties right for your fields.

Democrats
Oppose
Madigan
Decision
HARRISBURG
(Dauphin Co.)
United States Secretary
of Agriculture, Edward
Madigan announced at
a press release that he
has targeted the closing
of 18 County A.S.C.S.
Offices in
Pennsylvania.
The Penn Ag Demo
crats of Pennsylvania
are voicing their strong
opposition to this deci
sion. We are not
opposed to the closing
of offices that are not
cost-effective, but we
are opposed to closing
offices for political rea
sons rather than sound
economic reasons.
Secretary Madigan
asked for a report from
the State Director,
Donald Unangst, in
which it was recom
mended that five (5)
offices in Pennsylvania
be closed. Disregarding
the recommendation.
Sec. Madigan chose to
target 18 offices, of
which some of the orig
inal 5 were not
included. We are urging
our membership to
voice its disapproval of
the random closing of
important offices for
political gain rather
than sound economic
reasons.
