Casey dedi cated a $3.3 million two-story addition to the state Farm Show Complex this week in Harrisburg, the new addition will provide additional exhibit space for live stock and agricultural displays. “After a 35-year wait, this 82,000-square-foot addition will open its doors later this week to the hundreds of thousands of vis itors who will come here for the 77th Annual Pennsylvania Farm Show,” Gov. Casey said. “This addition was first au thorized way back in 1957, but the plans were mothballed for three and one-half decades. We dusted them off and we now have an im pressive building that will provide desperately needed livestock ex hibition space for the Farm Show.” The new addition which was completed four months ahead of schedule will provide livestock Badger Northland Inc. Casey Opens exhibition space on the first floor and a new family-oriented display area on the second floor. ‘This new addition is just the latest in a series of improvements we’ve made to the Farm Show Complex in the past six years,” Gov. Casey said. “All told, we’ve invested more than $lO million to improve this facility, which had suffered from years of neglect.” The improvements include a new roof‘on the Large Arena, a new heating system and replace ment of obsolete lighting and sound systems. “These investments we’ve made to the Farm Show Complex are investments in our agriculture future investments in the 52,000 Pennsylvania farm fam ilies who work to provide us with fresh and wholesome food prod ucts.” The 1993 Farm Show opens Saturday, Jan. 9, and runs through Thursday, Jan. 14.
