Charles Houp Charles Houp made his plans clear: to study dairy science at Penn State and to become a sire analyst for a breeding com pany. Charles, 17, son of Gerald and liana Houp, Boyertown, has been involved in a wide array of dairy projects, including heifers. His occupational work experience including dairy farm. He has also worked on swine breeding and finishing and poul try meats. Charles has served the FFA as reporter, president, and secretary, and he has obtained the Star Greenhand and Star Chapter Farmer degrees. Thomas J. Howard as a dairy farmer and, in 11th grade, topped 470 hours with farm work and raising dairy heifers. The Albion FFA member, 17, son of Elmer and Robin Howard, East Spring field, has other experience, including BO AC chair in the restoration of wetlands. Thomas also served as student advisor, vice president, and chapter president, and was awarded the Greenhand and Chapter fanner degrees. Stacy Hulslander Stacy Huls lander lives on a dairy farm in Bradford County. The 17-year-old Athens FFA member is the daughter of James and Judy Hulslander. Stacy said she is very active in school and community activites, is a member of the forensics team and vice president of the Peer Helper orga nization at school, in addition to a member of the Junior Holstein Club, member of 4-H, president of her youth group, and Bradford County alternate dairy princess. She takes care of the calves on the family farm, and serves as the vice president of her local FFA chapter and news reporter at the county FFA level. Paula Hunter To attend a four-year college and obtain a degree in landscape architecture form the plans of Oley Valley FFA member Paula Hunter. Paula, 17, daughter of Patricia and Leon Hunter, Fleetwood, has been involved in a diversity of projects, includ ing swine finishing, market lambs, and breeding sheep. She also served on the Food for American, BOAC, and banquet committees. Paula has served as chapter chaplain and reporter, and obtained the Greenhand, Chapter, and County degrees. Additionally, she was a member of the 1991 state FFA livestock team that com peted at the national convention. Bart W. lanson Four-year Spud Growers FFA member Bart W. lanson has been involv ed in a variety of projects, in cluding beef breeding, strawberries, and cpmfield. Bart also received a silver in the state livestock judging contest and a silver in the state record book contest. Rhock Johnson Rock Johnson is the 17-year-old son of Jerry and Brenda Johnson, Middlebury Center, and a 4-year member of the Cow anesque FFA Chapter. His FFA activities include on-farm work experience for the past two years, a sheep breeding project for 1989 and 1990, planting trees this past year, involvement with the group’s leader ship, citrus sales, forestry and land, dairy, and livestock committees or projects. He also participated in the 1990 All American Junior Dairy contest, the past two Farm Shows, and the 1991 FFA Week. He serves on the BOAC, Food For America. FFA Week, and banquet committees, and also partici pates in tractor driving and dairy judging contests.
