vention is scheduled for Feb. S
through Feb. 7, but junior mem
bers don’t have much time left to
order tickets. Deadline is Jan. IS.
The junior convention is usually
held at the same location as the
regular Pa. Holstein Association
convention and this year is no dif
ferent It is to be held at the Rama
da Hotel, in Wilkes-Barre.
Deadline for room reservations
at the hotel is also Jan. IS and the
lodging rates are $59 plus tax. Call
(717) 824-7100 and mention that
you are part of the convention.
There are some rules of beha
vior for junior members, in addi
tion to requiring a parent’s signa
ture of permission and emergency
phone numbers where the parent
can be reached.
Juniors must be in their rooms
by 12:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6;
and in rooms by 1:30 a.m, Feb. 7.
Doors are to be open at all times
with mixed company; no drugs or
alcohol; each junior is to name a
chaperone responsible, upon
registration, and, if one can’t be
named, there will be chaperones at

The Ciba-Geigy Agricultural Division
recognizes Reading Bone Fertilizer,
Leesport, for continued environmental
stewardship and community service.
The farm supply operation has made several
important site improvements aimed at safe
guarding the environment. Since 1990, the farm
center added pew diking and nnsate systems,
plumbing, and bulk tanks, all sealed and roofed
m its new warehouse. -
Facility Manager Randy Weyer says his staff is
committed to environmental responsibility. “We're
located in the center of Leesport, so it’s important
that we’re good neighbors to the people in town,”
he says. “We also have a river about 400 yards from
our plant, so we are dedicated to groundwater and
