The Wayne County affiliate of the Pennsylvania Dairy Herd Improvement Association (Pa.DHIA) completed its 66th year on Nov. 17 with its annual meeting and dinner at Lukan’s Farm Resort, near Hawley. A total of 88 herds completed a full year of testing. The average production per cow was 17,293 pounds of milk and 638 pounds of bullerfat. Income over feed costs, per cow, was $1,316. He spoke about the early history of DHIA, where it is now and where and how Pa.DHIA is “growing-up” for future years of service to Pennsyl vania dairymen.
