Compared to last week; Yearling steers
steady to $2.00 higher, yearling heifers
steady. Demand very good for most year
lings. Exception was Brahma crosses
which met light demand as recent storms
have taken 101 l on thin skinned cattle in
feedlots. Steer and heifer calves steady to
$2.00 lower. Demand uneven for calves
ranging from moderate to good. An
increase was noted in big calves along with
soft fleshy calves over last week. Hard,
thin calves still readily available but the
softer recently weaned kind were more
prevalent than last week. Overall quality
was plain to average, few attractive. Weigh
conditions gaunt to average, few full and
generally attracuve to buyers. Moisture
plentiful Ihiuout Oklahoma; this setting up
wheat for quick growth when temperatures
warrant. Slaughter cows and bulls
53.00-$4.00 lower. Demand moderate at
adjusted levels. Receipts this week 6,870,
last week 5,735, last year 15,219. Supply
consisted of 46 percent yearlings and
calves over 600 lbs.; 44 percent calves; 10
percent cows and bulls. Bulk prices follow;
weighted average prices in parenthesis:
