Pledges were given by Samara Shuster-Edelson and Danny Tal bot, with treasurers report by Becky Preiss. Old business covered Com ntunity Hospital’s Lampeter Horse Show, Horseless Clinic given by Beck Preiss, and our Florida hurricane horse rescue effort. New business covered a trail ride at Aton’s, gymkhana, State Horse Show in Harrisburg, and Boots and Saddles Club Banquet. Guest speaker for the evening was Saranna Miller, Miller told of the devastation to the horse popu lation in Florida never before has anyone ever had to cope with so many animals in such need at one time! Hurricane Andrew has devasted 6,000 to 8,000 horses. On October 30 through Novem ber 1, 10 Lycoming County 4-H Horse and Pony members com peted at the State 4-H Horse Show in Harrisburg. The annual event held at the Farm Show Building drew more than 850 entries from across Pen nsylvania. To be eligible to com pete at the State Show, members had to win their classes at the reg ional and local classes. This year’s state winners were: • Stephanie Beaver, reserve champion (second) senior hunter seat equitation. She has been an active member of 4-H, attending various local, regional, and state events. This spring, Coady was selected to represent Franklin County in stale competition.
