November 28 and runs through
December 6 from 10 a.m. until 4
p.m. daily; Wednesday and Satur
days, 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Special
Christmas admission prices:
adults over 18, $1.50; 6 to 18,
$.75; group of 20 or more (reser
vation required), $l.OO per person;

While viewing the Farmhouse as
it is bedecked in holiday fashion

mases past emerge. Period dressed
guides are on hand to point, out
significant details of each room on
display.
The walking tour of the
Museum grounds is “highly sea
soned” with the sights, smells, and
sounds of Christmas. Freshly cut

hang from the doorways of the
shops where Museum artisans
demonstrate their skills of the late
1800 s. The aroma of fresh baked
goodies will lure you to the Bake
Oven room where sweet treats,
sandwiches, and hot and cold
drinks will be sold. The Bell Rin
gers of St. Mary’s United Church
of Christ will ring in the 1992
Christmas Memories Tour on the
evening of November 28, from 6
to 8 p.m. Led by Ms. Valerie
Brown, the 13-mcmber group will
delight visitors with sounds of die
season. Santa Claus will pay a dai
ly visit to the Museum, handing
out candy canes to those boys and
girls having a wish list, from 11
a.m. until 1 p.m. Potted poinsettias
m various sizes and colors will be
on sale m the Museum lobby. In
the Genral Store arc handcrafted
items for sale that may solve the
“what to get” for that “hard to buy
for” person. The wagon master
will be on hand each weekend
with his team of mules for those
who wish a Christmas Memory
riding tour of the Museum
grounds: join in singing Christmas
Carols along the way.

The Curatorial Department of
the Farm Museum is sponsoring a
Christmas and Holiday Season
Quilt Square contest, “Holiday
Building Blocks.” This contest
and exhibit of holiday and Christ
mas motif quilling squares will be
on display in the Farmhouse
showcase. Unfinished squares or
finished squares arc to be no larger
than 16 inches x 16 inches in size.
Contest categories include patch
work, applique, embroidered,
mixed media, religious, most crea
tive, most intricate, and best quilt
ing square designed by children
under 16 years of age. The dead
line for all entries will be Novem
ber 23, 1992 (12 Noon). Sharing
the space in the Farmhouse show
case will be an exhibit of Christ
mas Teddy Bears.
