Agri-Women elected new officers
at the annual meeting held October
28, at the York Extension Service.
Patricia Sueck of Airville will
head the state organization that is
affiliated with American Agri-
Women. Sueck, former vice presi
dent, will fill a two-year term.
Becky Gross of Manchester was
elected vice president and Martene
Firestine of Lebanon, treasurer.
Helen Musser, Manchester, con
tinues as secretary.
Outgoing president Carol Ann
Gregg reported on a trip to Maine
where she helped establish a chap
ter of Maine Agri-Women.
Members discussed the success
of the Ag Day Reception held in
the Capitol Rotunda. They plan to
explore the possibility of holding
the reception at a more secluded
spot so that they can betterrelate to
legislators and their staffs without
the problem of public intrusion.
The purpose of the reception is to
have an impact on agriculture poli
cy in the state.
Ag in the Classroom has been
one of PAW’s projects. The mem
bership is also active in the Found
ation for Better Living.
Suek said one of her goals dur
ing her term of office is to see more
women join the organization.
“Being part of AAW brings a
wealth of information and a won
derful exchange between legisla
tures and the organization,” said

Penn’s Agri-Women Elects Officers
meet with Congress and lobby on
positions pertaining to agriculture.
Membership is open to any indi
vidual or agricultural organization
that desires to promote agriculture
for the benefit of the American
people and the world.
PAW believes that America’s
economic health depends on suc
cessful and profitable agriculture,
and that members working
together can magnify its political
influence to educate consumers
and school children on the needs of
agriculture.
“We don’t ask for a lot of time,
but we do need numbers to con
tinue to have an impact on agricul
ture policy,” Gregg said.
For the $lO membership fee,
members automatically become
members of American Agri-
Women and receive the newsletter
and information about happenings
in the state. PAW members gener
ally meet twice annually.

Members voted to support
financially the American Agri-
Women, the national coalition of
farm, ranch, and agribusiness
women with 48 state and national
commodity affiliates, Food Watch,
and the Animal Husbandry
Foundation.
After the business meeting,
members made grapevine center
pieces for the American Agri-
Women convention, which will be
held in Columbus, Ohio, on
November 12 through 16.
