    South Central 4-H Horse Show Results In Youth Advancing
SHIPPENSBURG (Cumber
land Co.) Fifty-four 4-H youth
recently had horses or ponies qual
ify for state competitions as a
result of judging during the South
Central Area 4-H Horse Produc
tion Show held at Shippensburg
Community Fairgrounds.
The show was a qualifier for the
state 4-H horse show, which is
scheduled for Oct 29 through Oct
31 at the state Farm Show Com
plex in Harrisburg.
The judge of the show was Dr.
Robert Kline, of the Ohio State
University.

sophomore at Virginia Polytechn
ic Institute and State University
where she is majoring in dairy sci
ence with a bio-science option.
She is an active 4-H member and
attended the 1991 National 4-H
Congress as the state dairy winner.
She is a member of the state and
national Holstein Association and
was named the 1988 Distin
guished Junior Member. Her
career plans are to work in dairy
science research, in reproductive
or diagnostic pathology.
Julie Ann I. Longenbach, of
Northampton, is a junior at Penn
State University, majoring in ani
mal bioscience She is a member
of the Penn State Blue Band and is
secretary of the Pre-Vet Club. She
has been a 4-H member for 11
years, completing projects in
dairy, horse and home economics.
She is a recipient of the 4-H “I
Dare You Award.” Her plans are
to become a large animal
veterinarian.
Bradley M. Morris of Chestcr
town, Md., is a sophomore at
Delaware Valley College major
ing’in dairy science. He is a mem
ber of the Dairy Society, A-Day
Planning Committee and the
National Agri-Marketing Associa
tion. He is a member of the Kent
County Ag Center Board, the Kent
County Young Farmers Group,
4-H and is a volunteer for the
county fair. He said he plans to
join his family’s dairy operation.
Scott A. Youse, of Oley, is a
junior at Delaware Valley Col
lege, majoring in dairy science.
His future plans are to work as a
herdsman or for the Cooperative
Extension service. In college, he is
active in the Dairy Society and
was named 1992 overall champ
ion filter and showman in the
annual A-Day competition. He is a
4-H adult leader and is a member
of the Oley Valley Fair Associa
tion and the Holstein board of
directors.
