Alliance With Penn
State Network
HARRISBURG (Dauphin Co.) For the se
venth consecutive year, the Pennsylvania Dairy
Promotion Program has joined the Penn State Sports
Network as an exclusive in-game sponsor to pro
mote dairy foods to sport fans and consumers. Lis
teners will be hearing live football and basketball
action interspersed with reminders about the good
ness of dairy foods.
As part of the network, Pennsylvania Dairy will
have four advertisements per game with several dif
ferent themes. Efforts will be made to emphasize
fluid milk and cheese and tailgating. Real hot
chocolate will also be in the focus during the cooler
months.
In addition to the advertising, Pennsylvania Dairy
receives opening and closing billboard messages,
and several promotional opportunities with the
Lions, including “Pennsylvania’s Finest Tailgate.”
The Penn State Sports Network is one of the
strongest collegiate networks in the country. The
network has 64 stations that cover Pennsylvania and
surrounding states reaching millions of consumers
and sports fans. Penn State football games, home
and away, as well as the University’s 28 basketball
games will be carried on the program.
Sports marketing has shown to be effective at
reaching specific target audiences. It gives the dairy
industry just one more angle to reach consumers
with a dairy product message. Penn State’s Network
has a strong and loyal listenership making the pro
gram a suitable method to market dairy products.
Fans who want to listen into the network can tune
their dial to affiliated radio stations.
