    BELOIT, Wis. A number of
cattle were recently recognized by
the national Brown Swiss Cattle
Breeders’ Association, headquar
tered in Beloit, Wis.
In Lebanon , County, several
cows owned by Gary Lee Mase
were recognized for outstanding
milk and milk component produc
tion. One cow has been listed on
the Brown Swiss national honor
roll for high production.
Those cows which make the
national honor roll are those which
have one of the top five, all time
records for the age class.

National Brown Swiss Recongizes Production
Fabia, produced 28,660 pounds of
milk, 918 pounds of fat and 929
pounds of protein on a 30S day lac
tation record. Her lactation con
tinued and she was doubly recog
nized as among the all time top five
3-year-olds with a production of
33,430 pounds milk, 1,107 pounds
of fat and 1,101 pounds of protein.
Four other cows from the Mase
herd received national recognition
for component production in
excess of 900 pounds protein and
1,000 pounds fat
The other Mase cows all have
records on lactations which lasted
from 305 to 365 days.

tein production above 900 pounds
protein and 1,000 pounds fat; once
after 305-days of lactation and
then again after continuing the lac
tation with a final production of

pounds of fat and 1,038 pounds of
protein.
Also recognized was the
Dauberts’ Shady Creek Target
Bren Belva, which recorded a
365-day lactation started at 5
years, 1 month, that produced

cows owned by William Daubert,
of Pine Grove.
Wind Mill Distinction Elissa, at
6 years, 7 months, started a lacta
tion which produced 32,380
pounds of milk, 1,233 pounds of
fat and 1,091 pounds of protein
after more than 305 days. The cow
was doubly recognized once
for production up to 303 days and
again when her lactation extended
beyond 305 days.
William Daubert’s other cow to
receive production recognition is
Wind Mill Ingles Maggie Mary,
which produced 26,030 pounds of
milk, 955 pounds of fat and 909
pounds of protein. The lactation
was more than 303 days.
Bruce Heilinger, of Newman
stown, also received recognition
for component production on a
more than 305-day lactation by
Fairdell B King Glimmer (8 years,
7 months), which produced 28,580
pounds of milk, 981 pounds of fat
and 907 pounds of protein.
In Ohio, several cows were rec
ognized for production. Cows rec
ognized were owned by St Char
les Seminary in Carthangena;
Wayne Sliker, in St. Paris; William
Watkins, Belmont; Robert and
Mark Witmer, Columbiana; Bella
Vue Farm, Sterling; R Hart Farm,
