Abbott comes to The American
Jersey Cattle Club with a strong
background in communications
and promotion. She has been

Guernsey Association sincfe
February 1990.
From September 1990 through
January of this year, Abbott was
information director for the asso
ciation. In this capcity she pro
vided breeders and industry lead
en with information about the
Guernsey breed in addition to
creating press releases and coordi
nating the organization’s youth
programs and three national
shows.
In February 1992, Abbott
became the managing editor of
Guernsey Breeders’ Journal. In
this position she was responsible
for soliciting and creating adver
tisements, writing editorial copy,
designing the Journal, and work
ing with the printer. Her experi
ence in these areas will be a strong

Abbott is a graduate of the Uni
versity of Vermont with a bache
lor of science degree in Animal
Science. She was the high indivi
dual overall at the 1987 National
Intercollegiate Dairy Cattle Judg
ing Contest and a recipient of the
American Fanner Degree in 198 S.
She has put her dairy judging
talents to work as an official at the
1991 National 4-H Dairy Judging
Contest and the 1988 Washington
State Jersey Show. She currently
serves on the U.S. Dairy Cattle
Genetics Council Promotion
Committee.
Abbott resides in Reynolds
burg, Ohio, with her husband Tim.
She replaces Carol Dreisbach who
has been with The American
Jersey Cattle Club since July
1989.
