Recently, highlights of the les sons learned in the U.S. Depart ment of Agriculture’s Rural Clean Water Program were discussed at a conference last week. The program, held at Lancas ter’s Farm and Honpe Center, 1383 Arcadia road, explained the find ings of the project. During the 10-year Rural Clean Water Program (RCWP) project, the effects of using agricultural best management practices (BMPs) to control nonpoint source ASSOCIATION OF DIESEL SPECIALISTS 258 W. The results of extensive ground and surface water monitoring done in conjunction with implementing these practices were reported by staff of the United States Geologi cal Survey, who did the monitoring. At last week’s program, Penn State extension staff discussed nutrient management principles and educational strategies used to implement nutrient management in the upper Conestoga watershed. Putting agricultural nonprofit source pollution in perspective and control of agricultural nonpoint source pollution were discussed by Soil Conservation Service person nel. Credit The Council advised Ukraine officials to submit an official request for the credit guarantees and proof of their credit worthi ness to USDA. The Council also sent a letter to the administration requesting USDA grant $3OO mil lion in GSM-102 to Ukraine.
