Troy Selects Junior Dairy Show Champions RONALD CLARK Wyoming Co. Correspondent TROY (Bradford Co.) A four-year-old Jersey was selected as the supreme champion dairy animal at the Troy Fair’s Youth Dairy Show. The animal Noble dale Legend Rosie, was shown by Jason Sonnema, a member of the Hill N Dale 4-H Club. Judges for the colored breeds were Gary Rogers, of State Col lege and J?mes Burnett, Pine City, N.Y. Judging the Holsteins were David Reese, also from Pine City, N.Y., and Niel Bowen, from Wellsboro. The fast-moving show included about 220 head of dairy stock, according to Bradford County Extension Director Jake Guffey. The winners in the Ayrshire breed were Melissa Hillyard, Kountry Kritiers Club, with her spring calf Chasmerell Cyris Chastity; winter calf. Melissa also took top honors in the Ayrshire dry cow, Beka Muffin’s Madison, and her fall calf was awarded the re serve junior champion title. In the senior classes. Melissa Hillyard continued her winning showings with her 4-year-old Ma sonic Home CCS Louise Ann, and her S-year-old HK Farms Mellis sa’s Muffin. Senior 2-year-old Lo cust Lane Spots took first place, showed by her owner Karen Ne ville. Tora Chief Tess, owned by Mike Swain, came from behind to become the junior grand cham pion, as this animal edged out John Yutkanin Jr. who showed Elmbrook Emory Amber to the re serve junior championship. The senior championship honors went to Elmbrook Proud Glenna, shown by John Yurkanin, and the reserve senior champion was also Yurkanin’s junior 2-year-old.
