Onalee Smith
(Continued from Pago B 12)
collects Mickey Mouse souvenirs
and her hobby is fishkeeping. She
loves to cook and has one dog
named Boomer.
Onalee enjoys helping out as
much as she can on the farm even
though she admits she can’t be
around the animals very much
because of her allergies. She does
drive the tractors and chase down
cows that have escaped in the
middle of the night. “1 guess when
you’re a farmer, you never know
what the next day will bring.”
“You don’t necessarily have to
do the milking and show cattle to
be a dairy princess. The only thing
that is important is what you
believe in and how you promote it.
To me, the dairy industry is
important and I am constantly
promoting it wherever I go.”
Onalee has a quote that she
believes makes you a stronger per
son: “If you have lived well,
laughed often, and loved much,
consider yourself a success.”
Here is one of Onalee’s favorite
recipes.
