speakers.
Steve Reiners, RCE Vegetable
Specialist, will explain studies
comparing organic, non-organic
and low-input methods of Tomato
production. Another study is
under way on fertility rates for
sweet com and tomatoes using
alfalfa meal and blood meal as nit
rogen sources. A three year rota
tion for com, tomatoes, and pump
kins using organic fertilizers is
also being studied.

under way on a block of disease
resistant apple trees, with a limited
spray program being tested, as
well as an organic spray program
being tested at the Cream Ridge
research farm.
Other projects on view include
a new leaf wetness monitoring
system to predict timing for dis
ease sprays on tomatoes, biologi
cal control of alfalfa insects, and
the 7 wire electric deer fence that
enclosed about half the farm.
