Demand opened moderate but became
very good fay noon Monday. Bulk of
receipts were steers and heifers over 600
lbs.; lighter weights not well tested. Qual
ity of supply plain thru attractive. Weigh
condition affected by rains since mid-day
Sunday and average to gaunt Flesh condi
tion average to moderately thin. Both
weigh and flesh condition more attractive
to buyers than last week. Excess rains hav
ing an adverse effect on cattle movement
and wheat harvest; a positive effect on pas
tures over wide area. Slaughter Cows
$l.OO lower. Slaughter bulls $l.OO-SI.SO
lower. Slaughter cattle demand moderate.
Receipts this week 7,480; last week 3,426;
last year 8,978. Supply consisted of 86%
yearlings over 600 lbs.; 10% calves; 4%
