Scholarship recipients include the following: Heather Becker daughter of Patricia Becker, Narvon, attends Pequea Valley High School. The 18-year-old is president of her FFA chapter and has won the silver medal at National Dairy Foods competition and for National Agri cultural sales. She placed third in the regional FFA public speaking contest Becker is also president of the 4-H dairy club and the 4-H community club. She plans a career in ag business and will begin studies at the Penn State Berks campus. Ben Ehrhart son of Philip and Barbara Ehrhart of Narvon is also a student at Pequea Valley High School where he is active in FFA. He is chapter vice president coun ty secretary, and plans to run for state FFA office in June. The 17-year-old has won the Keystone award and is third in the region for public speaking. Ehrhart is sec tional and regional wrestling champ. He has had lead roles in school play productions, is a mem ber of die National Honor Society, American Field Service, and been a scholar and on staff for the Pen nsylvania Council of Cooperatives Summer Institute. Heather Henisee, daughter of David and May Henissee of Col umbia, is a student at Elizabeth town High School where she was FFA secretary and president She has won the Gteenhand and Chap ter awards, Dairy Proficiency Award, and the DeKalb Award. For two years, Henisee was a member of the 4-H State Dairy Judging team, which placed first and second in the state during her tenure. Henisee has also been trea surer and president of the 4-H North West Dairy Club. Formerly, the Henisees operated a dairy farm in New Jersey. She continues to show her Guernsey cow and heif er. Henisee is a cheerleader a E town. She plans to major in interior design at the University of Dayton in Ohio. Eileen Holm who lives with her parents, Edwin and Lois Holm, at Manheim, is the county’s 1992 Outstanding 4-H’er. The 18-year old is a state ambassador for 4-H and president of the 4-H Boots and Saddles Club. At Hempfield High School, Holm is in the school chor us and a member of the chamber singers. Holm plans to major in equine science at Lake Erie Col lege in Ohio. Brian McLaughlin, son of Yvonie and Ralph McLaughlin of Quarryville is a student at Solanco. Brian was the 1991 outstanding 4-H’er for the county. He is presi dent of the 4-H rabbit club and a teen leader and an ambassador for 4-H. As a second-year FFA mem ber, Brian has earned the Chapter Degree. He is also a member of the school track team, and active in the church youth group at Mechanic Grove Church of the Brethren. Brian will major in national resource management at North land College in Wisconsin. Kimberly Robinson, daughter of Don and Evelyn Robinson of Ephrata, attends Conestoga Valley High School. She is a member of the National Honor Society and every musical group. She plays softball and tennis for the school and has been a volunteer for the March of Dimes and Walk Ameri ca. At Bethany Evangelical Con gregational Church, Robinson teaches a children’s class and is secretary of the youth group.
