RCMA Meeting Set
LEESPORT (Berks Co.)
Dairy fanner members of the Re
gional Cooperative Marketing
Agency (RCMA) in southeastern
Pennsylvania will meet to discuss
efforts to increase the price farm
ers receive for their milk.
The meeting will be at 1:30
p.m. Tuesday, March 24, at the
Berks County Agricultural Center.
Leespon, Pa. said Donald Duncan
of Robesonia, director of RCMA
Region 16, which includes: Berks,
Lehigh, Northampton, Bucks,
Montgomery, Chester and Dela
ware counties in Pennsylvania,
plus the southern counties of New
Jersey.
The meeting will also serve as
the annual meeting for Region 17,
Lancaster and York counties.
RCMA has been active
throughout the year on a variety of
projects, working to provide eco
nomic relief to farmers hit by low
milk prices. An RCMA staff
member will attend the meeting to
update members about activities
to provide an economic safety net
for dairy fanners.

During the meeting, independ
ent RCMA members will elect re
gional directors for Region 16 and
17 to serve on RCMA’s board of
directors, which meets regularly
throughout the year. They will
also elect a delegate and alternate
delegate for each region to attend
the annual meeting in December
and represent the regions on mem
bership matters.
Duncan, the director for Region
16, has served on RCMA’s Execu
tive Committee for several years.
There is currently a vacancy for
the Region 17 director’s position.
Elam Hover of Reading is the Re
gion 16 delegate. Fred Wain
wright Jr, of Bordentown, N J., is
the alternate. Thomas Zortman of
Ephrata is the delegate for Region
17. and Christian G. Becker of
Elizabethtown, the alternate.
All dairy farmers are invited to
attend the meeting. RCMA is a
