Price! trended lower. Trading activity
wai ipotty but improved as price! became
increasingly competitive. Raw materials
were usually available but breakers were
cautious and continued to work with their
regular commitments. Floor stocks were in
good balance to easily handle current trade
requirements.

National Egg Market
Feb. 19. 1992
Prices were lower in all areas except
New England where brown egg prices
were unchanged to lower. The market tone
was generally steady on white eggs with
some cautiousness in the Midwest and
West Coast, and, in New England, the
undertone was barely steady to weak.
Demand in all areas was light to moderate,
best where features were in progress or
planned. Supplies were adequate to ample,
offerings were limited, and asking prices
were steady. Breakers provided a light
demand for the generally adequate shell
egg offerings. Live hen offenngs were
light to adequate for the unaggressive to
moderate demand, and the trade sentiment
was unsettled,a nd steady to weak.
