Outstanding Sales Representatives

ional managers for Agri-King
were recently honored with several
prestigious awards at a recent
meeting.
Mark Richard, area manager,
was recently named to Agri-
King’s prestigious President’s
Club in recognition for outstand
ing sales and customer service in
1991. Regional manager Aldus
King was named Agri-King’s run
ner up regional manager for the
year, and area manager Larry
Wenger became the company’s
area manager of the year for 1991.
In addition, Glenn Martin, Ken
Grube, John Eckman, Gerald
Kreider, Darrell Eberly, and
Delmar Wenger, also area mana
gers, were named to the Presi
dent’s Club. Also named was
Roger Heller, regional manager. It
was the first year that Martin and
Wenger received the award, and
Kreider has received the award for
two years. Eberly has received rec
ognition three years, and it was the
fifth year for Grube and Eckman.
Agri-King is an Illinois-based
livestock nutrition company serv
ing farmers from Nebraska to New
York.

At Dairy Day
YORK (York Co.) Approxi
mately 60 people attended the
York County Dairy Day held
recently in Winterstown.
The program started with Dan
McFarland, multicounty ag engi
neering agent, who discussed
improving cow comfort through
proper ventilation, cow cooling,
and sprinkler systems.
The group then learned about
the new Dairy Quality Assurance
Program from Don Breiner, mana
ger of quality control and field ser
vices of Atlantic Dairy
Cooperative.
After a mid-morning break. Dr.
Marvin Hall of the Penn State
Agronomy Department discussed
“Hay Forage Management for
Quality.” And Dr. Dick Adams of
Penn State Dairy Extension gave
very informative presentations on
early lactation and dry cow man
agement and feeding.
After lunch, Marvin Hall dis
cussed “Intensive/Rotational Pas
turing a Viable Option.” And
following Hall’s presentation, far
mers Axel Linde of Lindenhof
Farms, Lancaster County and
Glenn Moyer, Holstein and Jersey
breeder of Somerset County, dis
cussed their experiences with rota
tional grazing.
