ADC Recognizes Southern
QUARRYVILLE (Lancaster
Co.) The Atlantic Dairy
Cooperative Quarryville and
Stasburg-Paradise locals held their
annual meeting Thursday to recog
nize quality producers and present
plaques of appreciation for 25-year
members.
Receiving a quality premium
award means that the producer had
received quality premiums on milk
for a straight 12-months. This year
was a record year for ADC with 97
producers making that record.
Those who were recognized
were Michael Esh, Elmer and
Martha Fisher, Samuel and Rachel
King, and Samuel and Srah Stoll
zfus and Lloyd and Leroy Welk.
Receiving recognition for
25-years membership in ADC
were Calvin Beiler, Kenneth Beil
er. Marlin and Gloria Beiler,
Rovert Clark and Sons, Reuben
and Elmer Fisher, Rueben and
John Fisher, R. Edwin and Arlene
Hamish, Roy Weaver and Vernon
Umble and son.
Robert Dever, assistant general
manager of ADC, told the mem
bership that “I can’t emphasize
how important quality is.”
He said that successful market
ing of milk depends on producers
maintaining a consistent level of
quality and production so that
those trying to get the milk sold
can make promises that the
cooperative can live up to.
The production of high quality
milk over the past year was good,
he said. The cooperative paid out
more than $3 million in quality
premiums.
Also, in regards to the 25-year
members, Dover said that loyalty
is important.
In other business, an election of
officers was held.
In the Strasburg-Paradise Local,
Don Rank is president, Tom Lapp
vice president. Dale Hershey is
secretary.
Delegates elected were Jack
Coleman, Parke Rank Jr., and Ray
Ranck. Alternate delegates are
