The market tone was barely steady to mostly weak. Cartoned egg demand covered die hill range, moady fair, and best into retail channels. Demand for graded or ungraded loose eggs was light to fair into food service channels, and gener ally light at the packer level. Supplies were adequate to ample. Surplus eggs were offered in all regions, and current nego tiated trades cominued to be at discounts. Breakers received adequate shell eggs from contracted sources, and surplus egg purchases increased as prices dropped.
