Prices were trending higher as costs con
tinued to escalate. Trading activity was
about moderate with most purchases lim
ited to immediate fill-in type needs. Raw
matenals were adequate, but held with
increased confidence. Floor stocks were
being woriced lower but remained suffi
cient for current buyer interest.

buying interest was mixed and selective,
and while showing some improvement,
remained no better than fair. Supplies of
boneless skinless breasts were fully adequ
ate to ample and demand was noted as
improving at several points. Whole breasts
were often noted as at least adequate and
generally more available on supplies of
yellow with the bulk of new trading at stea
dier price levels. Legs were fully adequate.
Leg quarters were in uneven balance but
adequate overall. Thighs and drums were
adequate with thighs in the closer balance.
Wings were adequate to fully adequate.

GLANCE: Trade lentiment was generally
iceady. Cartoned egg demand was active in
several areas as retail promotions stimu
lated some additional interest. Overall,
demand was mostly moderate. Supplies
were in an irregularly balanced position as
most dealers were able to obtain what they
needed. Breakers attempted to work as
close as possible with needs and watched
for further market developments.

Movement of ready-to-cook broiler
fryers was generally fair, and about as
expected for mid-week trading. Supplies of
3 pound and lighter sizes were short of
immediate needs, heavier sizes were e live
weights ranged desirable to heavy. Pro
cessing schedules were heavy. Trade senti
ment was generally steady. In the parts
complex, supplies of whole breast, wings
and dark meat were adequate to fully
adequate, boneless skinless breast were
fully adequate.

was becoming increasingly cautious.
Demand was generally about moderate
with some scattered retail promotional
activity noted in an attempt to stimulate
consumer buying interest Supplies were
usually in good balance to satisfy current
needs. The New Jersey inventory was 44%
above last Monday’s level, and the New
York inventory 13% above last week.
