IT DOES ABODYGOOD. Soybean Farmers Pleased ST. LOUIS. MO. U.S. soybean farmers are “extremely pleased” with the allocation of $73 million in GSM 102 funds for soybeans and the increase of $99 mil lion for protein meal, said American Soybean Association President Gary Riedel “We’re excited about the prospect of addition al export credits for soy beans to the Soviet Union,” said Riedel. “This fits right in with our plans to open an office in the Soviet Union to provide the technical assistance they need to make the best use of our soybeans and soybean products.” Riedel said the announcement verifies ASA beliefs that the Soviet Union needs and wants U.S. soybeans and soybean meal. He said the allocation adds to soybean farmers’ optimism about the future for U.S. soybeans in the Soviet market and he looked forward to continued expansion of the Soviet market.
