Improving Agriculture
HARRISBURG (Dauphin Co.)
State Agriculture Secretary
Boyd E. Wolff this week advised
farmers and processors that they
can apply for low-interest loans
through a program that promotes
the use of new technology in
Pennsylvania.
Applications to the Agricultural
Technology Loan Program
(ATLP) will be accepted from
Oct. 15 through Dec. 31.
“This program represents a tre
mendous opportunity for Pennsyl
vania farmers to take advantage of
leading edge technology designed
to increase efficiency and produc

Matching loans of up to
$50,000 are available at an interest
rate of half the federal discount
rate. Last year’s loan rate was 3.5
percent.
Farmers demonstrating the
greatest need and proposing die

ductivity or provide entry into
new product areas.
