    The Allens are the seventh generation of their family to live on this Dairy
of Distinction farm. The term purchased in the 1800 s is located near Smock
in Fayette County. They have 150 Holstelns and milk In a free-stall, milking
parlor set up. The family members Include Richard and Sandy and children
Courtney, 13; Taylor, 12 and Shelby, 9. The children have 4-H projects.
With the help of three full-time employees, Bill and Nancy Barkman farm
450 acres near Chambersburg in Franklin County. They milk 150 Holstelns
and have 120 head of young stock. The farm was purchased in the early
19405. The Barkmans havefourchlldren, Wendy, 12; Scott, 7; Travis, 3; and
Jason, 9mo.

Faith Dairy Farm, located near Mt. Pleasant in Fayette County, is sur
rounded by homes and small shopping centers. But William and Joyce
Faith have fit their farming operation nicely Into their surroundings. They
farm 675 acres and have about 160 Holsteins. The farm is In the family 101
years. William, William Jr. and Doug Summy run the operation. Joyce has
opened a consignment resale store In a house trailer on the farm. In addi
tion to William Jr., the Faiths have four other children, David, Shelly, Susan
Summy and Ellen Marks.
