    REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio
Genetics of top U.S. Guernsey
cows went back to their homeland,
the Island of Guernsey, in June,
according to the American Guern
sey Association (AGA).
Ten embryos out of outstanding
pedigreed Guernsey cows were
exported to Guernsey Island, hav
ing been sold to a sydkate headed
by John Posnett, of Tarporley,
Chestshire.
The selection of the cows was
conducted by AGA of Reynolds
burg, Ohio. The syndicate had spe
cific criteria such as high produc
tion, outstanding type and high
index cows. The best available
genetic matches to the criteria
were made among those U.S. cows
ready to be flushed at the time.

American Marketing Service of
Arlington, Va., in providing trans
portation and assuring all health
requirements were met

embryo transfer company in Eng
land to implant die embryos.
The new owners plan to breed
theETheifers to the bestU.S. bulls
available at the time and flush
them as virgin heifers. Any ET
bulls will be sampled.
Six embryos were exported
born Yellow Creek Farm, owned
by Truman Weaver, Goshen,
Indiana; and four embryos came
from Land of Living Farm, owned
