Chairman
HARRISBURG (Dauphin
Co.) __ Ralph McGregor, a York
County dairy farmer, has been
elected chairman of the Pennsylva
nia Beef Council board of direc
tors. McGregor replaces Ray
Grimes, a beef producer from
Adams County, whose term as
chairman expired.
A member of the Beef Council’s
board of directors since 1988,
McGregor had previously served
as the council’s first and second
vice chairman. He is a member of
the Cattlemen’s Beef Promotion
and Research Board, and is current
chairman of the York Farm Credit
Association.
Kathy Roberts, a veal producer
from Lycoming County, was
elected first vice chairman. Dennis
Byrne, a beef producer from Ches
ter County, was elected second
vice chairman. Lowell Wilson, of
Centre County, and Faith Peterson,
of Adams County, were elected
treasurer and secretary of the coun
cil, respectively.

STATE COLLEGE (Centre
Co.) Randall Meabon, a dairy
farmer from the Erie County town
of Wattsburg, was recently
appointed to the board of directors
for the Pennsylvania Council of
Cooperatives (PCC).
Meabon is a director for Milk
Marketing, Inc. (MMI), a milk
cooperative based in Strongsville,
Ohio. He has served as an MMI
director for the past two years. As
an MMI member, Meabon and his
wife, Paula, participated in the
MMI Young Cooperative Couples
program and served on the Nation
al Milk Producers Federation
Advisory Council.
The Meabons have owned their
500-acre dairy farm for the past 14
years. The milking herd averages
100 head of Holstein cattle.
In addition to his activities with
MMI, Meabon is also active in the
Pennsylvania Farmers Associa
tion, serves on the county ASCS/
SCS committee, and belongs to
Atlantic Breeders Cooperative.
His family belongs to the Beaver
Dam Mennonite Church. The
Meabons have two children,
Nichole, 11, and Bradley, 9.
