NATIONAL EGG MARKET - AT A
GLANCE: Prices were unchanged. The
market tone was steady. Demand was fair
to good, mostly moderate and best where
retail features were in progress, and where
post-holiday fill-in orders were fairly
active. Supplies were short to occasionally
adequate on jumbo and extra-large, adequ
ate for large, and adequate to fully adequ
ate for the smaller sizes. Breaking stock
supplies were adequate under a steady
ttarket tone. Live hen markets were barely
steady, and offerings were plentiful for the
light and unaggresaive demand.

was steady. Demand remained mixed, and
was mostly moderate. Distributor interest
in extra-large and jumbo continued fairly
active in light of the short to closely
balanced supplies. Large supplies were
adequate, and mediums were adequate to
fully adequate. The New Jersey inventory
was 14% below last Monday's level, and
the New York inventoiy was 5% below last
week.
