The Lancaster County 4-H
Woolies Club met on Monday,
April 15, at 7 p.m.
The meeting was held at the
East Donegal Township Building,
Maytown, and was called to order
by president Mark Tracy.
It was announced that there will
be a carcass lamb show along with
a roundup, August 8, at the Solan
co Fairgrounds. All members
interested were asked to sign up
for this show. The group was also
informed about some upcoming
sales to buy project lambs.

The program for the evening
was “Project Lamb Selection.”
Gerald Tracy, leader, gave a
demonstration with live lambs on
what to look for when choosing
project lambs, both market and
breeding. Lambs represented the
Dorset, Suffolk, Hampshire, and
Polypay breeds. Members were
given hands-on experience in
comparing the qualities and differ
ences of the lambs.
The next Woolies Club meeting
will be Monday, May 20, at 7 p.m.
at the Lancaster Farm and Home
Center. The group will be discuss
ing feeding and project books.
