Atlee Burpee and Co. has donated seeds of their exclusive hybrid pumpkin called Prizewin ner to the Bucks County 4-H Prog ram. 4-H members who enroll in the pumpkin project will be sup plied with pumpkin plants and seeds and instruction on caring for pumpkin patches. In October, members will show their pumpkins at the Bucks Coun ty 4-H pumpkin roundup. Prizes are awarded for the largest pump kin, the most uniform pair, and the best carved face. There is also a pumpkin recipe contest and a pie eating contest. 4-H’ers will also be in the run ning for Burpee’s grand prize of $lO,OOO if they grow the largest pumpkin in the United States. To join the4-H Pumpkin contest and project, youth must be enrolled as 4-H members. The deadline is May 24,1991.
