In Pennsylvania, three cows owned by Gary Lee Mase, Leba non, recorded lactations worthy of national recognition. Mases’ Meadow Hill Performer Chrissy produced 25,320 pounds of milk in 305 days, freshening at 6 years, 9 months. The milk compo nents included 1,036 pounds of fat and 865 pounds of protein. Meadow Hill Prospect Lauren, on a lactation of more than 306 days, recorded 23,540 pounds of milk with 1,008 pounds of fat and 883 pounds of protein. She freshened at 6 years, 11 months. Another cow owned by Mase was noted for both high fat and protein production levels. Quiet Valley Jim Dandy, freshening at 6 years, 3 months, produced 29,580 pounds of milk, 1,153 pounds of fat and 1,084 pounds of protein during a lactation of more than 306 days. A cow owned by Richard Wen ger, of Manheim, was also recog nized for outstanding production. Shady Creek Jackie Jan R Twin, was honored twice on a lactation that began with a freshening at 6 years, 4 months. Before 305 days, Twin produced 25,890 pounds of milk, 1,019 pounds of fat and 853 pounds of protein. PAUL B. Dean and Brenda Daubert, of McElhattan, related to William, also had one of their cows receive high component production dis tinction. Wind Mill Distinction Joana ET, on a lactation that began at 6 years, 7 months, produced 25,190 pounds of milk with 1,004 pounds of fat and 907 pounds of protein. In Ohio, recognition went to two cows owned by the Earl Bursiek family, of Gibsonburg. Twin Gate Queenies Rosie and Twin Gate Marthas Melody both made high records during lacta tions of more than 306 days. Rosie produced 26,510 pounds of milk starting at 10 years, 7 months, with 1,053 pounds of fat and 874 pounds of protein. Melody pro duced 24,280 pounds of milk, 1,007 pounds of fat and 849 pounds of protein on a lactation that began when she was 9 years. BOM gP MOD 11 months. A cow owned by Garbro & Bry- Lyn Swiss, West Salem, Garbro Telstar Lisa, was recognized for producing 25,070 pounds of milk, 863 pounds of fat, and 901 pounds of protein in less than 306 days. Johann Lovely Lamp ET, own ed by Johann Acres, of St. Marys, was recognized for a production at 4 years, on a lactation less than 306 days, of 24,540 pounds of milk, 1,072 pounds fat and 826 pounds of protein. Laßainbow Farms, New Knox ville, also had a cow worthy of rec ognition. La Rainbow Starfly, at 8 years, 4 months, produced 27,450 pounds milk, 1,166 pounds of fat and 888 pounds of protein in more than 306 days. A cow owned by R-Hart Farm Wapakoneta, Ohio, had acheived honor roll status in that her produc tion record fell within the top five all-time records within her age division. High Spruce Stretchy Eve, on a lactation from a freshening at 8 years, 7 months, produced 31,780 pounds of milk, 1,668 pounds of fat and 1,037 pounds of protein. Her lactation exceeded 306 days. In Maryland, a cow owned by Dwayne Bell, of Knoxville, Le Fer Ban Stylish Mary, produced 26,810 pounds of milk, 1,186 pounds fat and 887 pounds of pro tein on a lactation in excess of 306 days. She freshened at 5 years. In Virginia, a cow owned by Gary McDonald, Stephens City, was recognized twice for the same lactation that she started as a 4-year-old. Shen-Val Target Miss Happy received honor roll recognition for her lactation production under 305 days. Within that time she pro duced 26,590 pounds of milk, 969 pounds fat, and 940 pounds of protein.
