On a rainy, cool day at the farm
show, I was taking Whitney, my
heifer, for water. When suddenly I
heard a BANG!
To my surprise a steer cage was
flinging through the air with a
steer, wild with rage, still tied
between the bars hitting a woman
and breaking her leg. Unexpected
ly, his halter became untied. He ran
wildly through the bam turning the
comer and heading down the aisle

into me and I was pushed into the
wall. The steer charged again but
Whitney fought back butting the
steer with her head. The steer
turned and ran into a group of cows
enabling a farmer to grab the rope
and tie him tight.
Whitney saved my life, she is
my hero!

Group 1 met at the home of June

21. A devotional led by June Hcrt
zler compared the pruning of trees
in spring to the pruning in spiritual
lives.
Members responded to roll call
by telling of an emergency they
had experience.
Dr. Beverly Kimpel, a family
practitioner from Perry County,
spoke to the group about several
health topic, and answered
questions.
Lap robes, brought back from
the January meeting, will be given
to Perry Village nursing home.
The next meeting will be held at
the home of Cindy Thoman on
March 28. The speaker will show
how to macrame a lawn chair.
