This time, Billy George Leib made a vow: to be better pre pared for the show. That included learning how to lead the sheep, trimming them to “make them look nice,” and helping with the herd enough to get them ready for the competition. And Billy’s efforts paid off handsomely Thursday night at the Farm Show wool breed competi tion when Billy won supreme wool champion for the second year in a row. Not only that, but Billy also swept the entire Rambouillet show, capturing champion and reserve champion ram, ewe, as With her spring ewe lamb, Kimberly A. The champion Rambouillet ewe (and supreme champion) was a spring ewe lamb (Oawright 5038, SSF 240) and the champion ram was a spring ram lamb (Oawright 5038, Shultz 88142). At the same show last year, Bil ly, 10, a fourth grader at Monroe High School and a herdsman with his family’s business (Shepherd’s Crook in Mechanicsburg) picked up supreme wool breed champion. He’s been showing at the Farm Show the past six years.
