Prices were sharply higher as sellers
attempted to keep pace with rising costs.
Trade activity was about moderate with
buyers cautious and restricting purchases
where possible. Breakers worked shor
tened holiday schedules but floor stocks
were usually sufficient to cover current
needs.

Movement of ready-to-cook broiler
fryers was fair today. Supplies were
adequate for current trade needs. Less than
trucklot asking prices were competitive at
46-59 cents. Live supplies were adequate.
Average live weights ranged desirable to
heavy. Processing schedules were heavy.
Trade sentiment was steady In the parts
complex, wings continued strong. Dark
meat was barely adequate to adequate,
breast items were adequate.
