The 6th annual banquet of the Tui pehocken Young Farmers was held recently at the Bemville Fire Company. The following awards were pre sented: In the milk production category, the high herds in milk were Forrest Strieker with 22,179 pounds, Leon Martin with 19,776 pounds and, in third place, John Stump with 19,631 pounds. In protein production, the winners were Forrest Strieker, 690 lbs., John Stump, 633 pounds, and Leon H. Martin, 629 pounds. The low somatic cell herds were For rest Strieker, Mark and Lawrence Keiffer, and Danvale Farms. In the com yield contest, the winners were Frederick Bohn, John Stump, and in third place, Samuel Forry. Topics covered were 1) what are the most effective ways of influencing your legislator? 2) What should you ke§p in mind when meeting with your legisator? 3) tips for writing letters; 4) what you should consider when calling your legislator; and 5) why you should get to know the staff of your legislator.
