Lebanon Recognizes
4-H Dairy Achievers
ONO (Lebanon Co.) Out
standing 4-H Dairy members were
honored at the Lebanon County
4-H Dairy Banquet at the Ono
Fireball, Ono.
This banquet climaxed the 1990
project year and was hosted by the
NORLEBCO 4-H Dairy Club.
Emcee, Karen Lentz, welcomed
the 200+ 4-H members, leaders,
families and guests. Corey Bom
gardner and Lawanda Shuey led
the Pledge of Allegiance, and 4-H
Pledge, respectively, while Tom
Shuey gave the invocation. Terry
Hill, Lebanon County Dairy Prin
cess addressed the group on how
special 4-H Dairy Club work is.
She then moderated a Dairy Bowl
competition between 4-H mem
bers and leaders.
All 4-H club members, leaders
and sponsors in attendance
received a special hand-crafted
cow memento for the 1990 club
year from their respective club
secretaries: Becky Elliot, Lawan
da Shuey, Stephnanie Wagner and
Jeff Zimmerman. John Bomgard
ner, and Alan Hostetler, Lebanon
4-H Dairy Judging Team coaches
presented awards to the judging
team members. Terry Hill, Leba
non was presented with a plaque
for being Lebanon County’s 1990
Outstanding Dairy Judge while
Kurt Hostetler received honors for
Top Hoard’s Dairyman Judging.
Lebanon County Dairy Bowl
Team, members were honored by
coach Mike Kunkle. Mike also
presented the Outstanding Dairy
Bowl member awards to Karen
Lentz and Steve Bollinger.
Kenneth Winebark, Extension
Dairy and Livestock Agent, then
recognized the following award
winners. Winners in the County
Dairy blue form category were
announced to be Michelle Unge
mach, Terry Hill, Kevin Goss and
Dave Lentz. Kynel Bomgardner
was also honored for receiving the
Susan Heilmger Werner Memor
ial Award.
Receiving the lop County and
Club Rookie awaids arc as fol
lows: Lebanon County Outstand
ing “Rookie” and NoSo Ann Club
Rookie was Amanda Marlin while
Kendra Reist won the Cedar Crest
Club Rookie award.
In a new category three winners
were named. Lebanon Agway
sponsored a Best Bred afid Owned
class at the 4-H Round Up. This
class was judged by not only the
animals type but included their
4-H project record book.
The winners of the SIOO.OO
Savings Bonds were Kynel Bom
gardner, Jesse Bomgardner and
Judy Mase.
Also honored were members
with excellent project record
books. 1990’s Lebanon County
Outstanding Record Book was
submitted by Kynel Bomgardner
of the Norlebco Dairy Club.
Named as the other club record
book winners were Duane Nolt,
ELCO Dairy, Kathy Habecker,
NoSoAnn Dairy Club, and Rachel
Krall, Cedar Crest Dairy Club.
