been “terrific,” particulary in the
area of moleclar biology. Through
biotechnology, powerful research
tools have been developed, but
none of us know yet just how pow
erful they are.
“We don’t know how powerful
the research tools are that we have
before us,” Thomas said. “We have
gone through a decade where we
have been scared of them wor
ried to death we may create a mon
ster. Worried that we would go in
and mess with genetic structures
and some kind of thing would
crawl out of the laboratory and eat
up all our com and perhaps our feet
at the same time.
“We are now begining to find
there are indeed tremendous gains
that can come to us through
biotechnology, and we are just
beginning in a big way. And we are
going to use the resources of the
university to give the college of
agriculture the opportunity to capi
talize more on biotechnology. I am
hopeful we can make better use of
our biotechnology center,” Tho
mas said.
On the subject of funding for the
university, Thomas said he has

$3.00 per bu. for corh, $B,OO for yellow soybeans, $l2 for white
soybeans, $3,20 for speltz if they are non toxic. We can't get
near enough for the big demand. Farmers proved it is much
better for their livestock. Therefore they will pay the difference
to get it. The demand is much greater than the supply, which
makes the prices.
You need to send only about 5 ounces of beans or grain to
the broker in Ohio for the toxin text. No charge.
Now if other people's livestock do so much better on non
toxic feed, why shouldn't yours also? Many are using our Nutri
Carb, the best product to pull toxins out of the soil that we
know of. Now their livestock do better. Problems go away.
Some say the cows are in almost perfect health. It takes less
feed to make a pound of milk, meat and eggs.
Apply Nutri Carb in the fall for non-toxic crops to be more
sure of reaching the qualification next year. It does not dissi
pate. It lasts for years, making it economical, and you richer
and a better contributor for healthy mankind. Are you smart
enough to know a good thing when you see it? Or would you
rather cry the blues about farming? Ask for a lot of literature.
Send 50C to prove you are really Interested. Stamps OK.

State College and Harrisburg dur
ing the first five weeks of his pres
idency. “We need to find ways to
increase the funding the Pennsyl
vania State University gets from
the commonwealth,” Thomas said.
“Most people in the common
wealth want to see this happen, but
we haven’t taken the necessary
steps to fill the gap.”
Thomas said, “Pennsylvania is
47th out of SO states in public sup
port for higher education. We have
seen erosion in the federal support
for agricultural education and state
erosion for support of higher edu
cation,” Thomas said. “I believe in
the representative form of govern
ment If we articulate to the people
of Pennsylvania what we do for
them as a university, people of
Pennsylvania will not tolorate
being 471 h. They will in fact talk to
their legislators and the legislators
will vote the way they think their
people want them to vote.
“And we need to tell them how
we want them to vote for assistance
to the university. It will take grass
roots support It will not happen by
my track meets to Harrisburg, but
by continious help from the
people.”
