In addi tion to the usual competition of market lambs and breeding sheep, 4-H members at the York Fair turned out for a variety of events testing their shepherding skills, showmanship, fitting and even their imagination. The blocking and grooming contest saw 39 head of off-the pasture sheep matched with 4-H members who had one hour to fit them to show readiness. Amy Dut rey, Dallastown, finished with champion honors, after taking first place in the senior age group. Sec ond in the seniors was Jean Sher ry, Thomasville, while R.J. Sher ry, thomasville, placed third. Matt Sellers won the intermediate age grouping, then earned the judge’s nod for reserve champion overall.
